Sean Alistair is a Queer multidisciplinary artist who creates fiber art paintings and sculptures through the use of couture embroidery techniques and found object assemblage .  Born in Vancouver Canada he now resides in the Bavarian countryside with husband and young daughter.

After studying studio photography at Langara in Vancouver, he transitioned into fashion with a focus on history, merchandising, and styling thus leading to a career spanning over 20 years in luxury fashion. It was during this time where he was introduced to haute couture as well as the avant garde which expanded his knowledge of  fabric manipulation and surface ornamentation.

Opting for a working process that is often extremely laborious and repetitive, his practice of fabric orrementaion or distortion is an exploration of the monotony of  the human experience of the in-between. He insists on not keeping a large available body of work but instead utilizes older pieces within new works as a way to minic the human experience of aging and learning.

Throughout his career he has shown his work in San Francisco, Miami, Pittsburgh,  Vancouver, Victoria, Würzberg and Berlin.
